The Freunde und Förderer der Gießereitechnik an der Technischen Universität Clausthal e. V. supports the promotion of research and teaching in foundry technology at the Institute of Metallurgy at Clausthal University of Technology.
What does this mean in concrete terms?
Support for students through
- Acquisition of subject-specific teaching materials that are not provided by the university (books, smaller equipment and materials for practicals)
- Excursions to foundries and foundry suppliers to convey the practical requirements and the diversity of the job description of a foundry engineer
- Attracting new students in the field of foundry technology through information material and events
- Organizing student days at the Institute of Metallurgy, promoting efforts to actively help shape physics, chemistry or art lessons in collaboration with teachers in order to raise awareness of the importance of metal casting and spark enthusiasm for the profession, targeting students at trade fairs
- Promoting research by covering the costs of small experiments (clarifying whether an idea can be realized or not)
- Communication with institutes, institutions and companies working in the field of foundry technology.
The association pursues exclusively and directly tax-privileged, non-profit purposes. (Tax number 2121558068 of the Goslar tax office dated 20.12.1993). The membership fees are deductible as donations according to §10 EStG and §9 KStG. In addition, members of the association receive a discount on the participation fee for the Clausthal Foundry Colloquium.
The Association of Friends and Sponsors of Foundry Technology at Clausthal University of Technology was founded on October 21, 1993 on the occasion of the 14th Clausthal Foundry Colloquium. It was entered in the register of associations under VR2246 at Clausthal-Zellerfeld Local Court on January 17, 1994.
