Bundling diversity and increasing awareness
The Akademische Interessensgemeinschaft Gießereitechnik (akaGuss.de) is a new working group of professors who are committed to foundry technology. It is committed to increasing the importance of foundry technology at universities and in the industry.
Our aim is to create greater added value through exchange than the individual institutes alone. Regular discussions and an exchange of opinions and information are important to us. As part of the akaGuss association, we address teaching and research issues, but we also want to raise the profile of our department - both in the industry and in university education. We want to achieve a significant increase in the visibility of production technology, materials science and materials engineering in these two core areas. A further goal is more effective cooperation with industry, which should lead to significantly more research and development projects and thus strengthen the industry and Germany as a production location.
University lecturers from various foundry institutes throughout Germany - and beyond - work together on the association's committees.
Due to our very own task of teaching and research, our knowledge and networking in these areas is very high and diverse. We are convinced that the close cooperation in various committees of our association offers a great opportunity to support the foundry industry and thus play a decisive role in its development. Constant cooperation with the industry results in closer networking and this opens up communication channels and understanding for academic training and research.
